The Library of Dnyanvardhini Trust's Sonubhau Baswant College of Arts and Commerce located in Shahapur, District Thane, serves as the central academic resource centre of the institution and plays a vital role in supporting the teaching, learning, and research activities of students and faculty members. The strength of any educational institution largely depends on its library and information centre; keeping this in mind, the college has given special attention to the development of its library. Today, the institution possesses a spacious library building of about 3600 sq. ft., which is considered one of the largest libraries in a remote area like Shahapur. The reading hall can accommodate nearly 160 readers at a time, providing a comfortable and conducive environment for study and research. The library is continuously developing its collection and services to meet the academic needs of users. It houses a rich collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, periodicals, and materials for competitive examinations. In addition, the library maintains valuable resources such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, biographical books, bound volumes of journals, competitive examination books, old question papers, and newspaper clippings. The library is fully automated using SOUL developed by the INFLIBNET Centre, which facilitates efficient management of library operations such as acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, and OPAC services. It also provides access to digital resources including free and open access e-books and e-journals, supporting advanced learning and research. These databases are accessible through the library website at http://library.sbcshahapur.ac.in/ OR https://sbcshahapur.ac.in, enabling users to search and access information conveniently.
